I have some cgi-scripts I have bought online that I altered to make them better and would like to sell the code. Is that legal? How much do you have to change a script to call your own? Thanks for the help.

Bob

You can never make a "derivative work" your own, no matter how much you change it. You can only sell or distribute the changes, not the original code in any form, unless you specifically have resale license. Otherwise, expect to lose the forthcoming civil suit and owe lots of money. Sincerely,

I appreciate the fast response. Thanks for the info!

For each individual script, check the copyright notice/licence which came with them. SOME scripts will allow you to made mods and sell them, SOME scripts won't even allow you to make any mods! Take the default as what Tom has said, because after all you'd be benefiting from someone elses work when all you made were some changes.
