Can i add an XP Pro client to a W2K server (Domain)?

this is the error i get... (Domain in Beemaa)

The domain name beemaa might be a NetBIOS domain name. If this is the case, verify that the domain name is properly registered with WINS.

If you are certain that the name is not a NetBIOS domain name, then the following information can help you troubleshoot your DNS configuration.

An error occurred when DNS was queried for the service location (SRV) resource record used to locate a domain controller for domain beemaa.

The error was: "DNS request not supported by name server."
(error code 0x0000232C RCODE_NOT_IMPLEMENTED)

The query was for the SRV record for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.beemaa

Are your DNS entries correct? Do you use WINS?

The machine is basically saying that it can't find the DC for your domain....
try check that in DNS you are using the correct Domain Name Suffix, and check the suffix search order that it definitely contains the right namespace..

Yes, you can add an XP client to a 2k domain...

Make sure you can ping the server by name instead of IP. Also, make sure you have disabled the included firewall in XP before trying to join the domain.

add the xp client's hostname to ad users and computers first, then make sure the xp client has the dns server's address in it's ip config and let her rip.

OK, I think this is the way for you to correct your problem,
If you didn't install any others program, so reinstall winXP pro (just for so many problems you find in the future ...) remove the internet firewall option of your netcard.
This will fix your problem,
If you install others program already, you can do by this way but i think better is reinstall from begin.
