Can I add a formula or data entry/addition in my PDF????

I'm publishing my PDF on the web and I would like it if people could enter in prices in certain places on the pdf and have them add up in a totals section.

Is this possible?? how do i enable data entry? and can i add a formula for sum?

How are you creating your PDF? In the "full" versions, you can create forms, and add JavaScript to manipulate form values.

Users can fill out the forms with any version of Acrobat. However, Reader cannot save the form locally. It can submit the form back to the server, either as an FDF, or in plain HTML format (which is my preference).

well..the pdf is created from a word document that i just print to adobe. I should have the "full" version..but after it's already created, how do i add the java etc..??

JavaScript. Java is completely different.

You need the full version of Acrobat, for example, Acrobat 6.0 Professional. I'm not familiar yet with the 7.0 versions.

You use the form tools that are built into the program.

i guess i only have standard...i can only import and export form data...

If you do "Help | About..." you can tell what version you're using.

You need to upgrade to the "Professional" version if you are going to create forms. There might be some 3rd party tools out there for form creation, that would allow you to direclty add "form elements" to the raw PDF file.

I haven't worked with any such tools, though, so can't advise. You can search
