Hi,

The question is shown in the title.
I tried with recordsets, but it gives an error when trying to open the access 97 database; something like "It cannot open the database *********. It might not be an access database or the file could be damaged"

Any ideas on how I can access that data?
Just one more thing: I need to have two separate databases, one in Access 2.0 and another one in Access 97, and I will need to access data in one and another from two interfaces, one in Access 2.0 and another in Access 97, i.e., from Access 97 I will need to access data in Access 97 and in Access 2.0. Also from Access 2.0 I will need to access data in Access 2.0 and data in Access 97.

Thanks!

Simple answer.....No. Access 2 cannot open 97 mdbs. For some reason, Microsoft left out the crystal ball in Access 2.....

But there are workarounds. Generally, speaking, the best strategy is to save the data in the earlier format. both 95 and 97 will read 2.0 tables. To get them from 97 to 2.0, try exporting them to Excel or Word and then importing into the 2.0 mdb file. This is one of the reasons for splitting databases. I have a number of customers wit this problem and I know this solution works. Haven't done it with 2.0 for a coulpe of years, though.
