Hi,

I have a report that I have inserted a cross tab in the report footer, I had to use the specified order for my grouping for this cross tab to get all of the information to show that we needed to see, but now, the columns are very wide making the cross tab and its columns excessively wide. Is there a way to apply "can grow" to these columns in a cross tab so that they can be of a more normal width? Is this something simple that I am missing somewhere?

Any help would be appreciated!

There is no "can grow" feature, but you can resize the columns by dragging the borders vertically, and then text will wrap. You can also rotate labels 90 degrees and make them narrow, or you can go into the customize style tab and uncheck "show cell margins" which will compress everything.

LB,

Thank you for your quick response, I was afraid that is what I was going to find out. Unfortunately, I had already unchecked the show cell margins and when I drag the border vertically the text does not wrap (for these fields anyway, however on the "totals" they wrap, but not on the group name box... :( and when you turn vertically, then you have the same problem only vertically...

Can you add text boxes that have a conditional formula in them to display the information that we want to see for each group that way? I wasn't able to figure out how to add a text box so I did the specified order for my grouping to show the additional informtion that we needed to see, but if I could insert a text box somehow, then maybe that would wrap...when I tried a text box, it only worked once, it didn't repeat like I wanted it to.

thanks!

What version of CR are you using? I've always been able to get labels to wrap by dragging boundaries, although CR 10 was a little quirky in that sometimes fields were clipped.

I don't think text boxes are a solution. You could try changing the font size as well.

LB,

We are using CR XI, and I have reduced the font down to 8, I too didn't think that the text boxes were a good solution, just thought I would throw that out there...anyway, I appreciate your thoughts and if you think of anything else, please let me know. :)

Thanks again!
