Can Flash Do This? 1

Hi all, I have no experience at all with flash. I have a website which must use layers & the show hide layers behavior as well as the set text of text field behavior. As you might have already guessed I'm having a lot of compatibility issues with various browsers. I am downloading the trial of flash right now but I was wondering before I learn how to use it - if flash can perform similar functions. Specifically the set text of text field behavior. Any insight into flash would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Flash can do just the sort of thing you are on about. With movie clips and scenes you can control the visablity of your information. And with Flash you are not restricted as where you can place the information (unlike HTML layers). You have complete control over all your graphical content and layout. The only problem is that all information is complied into the final .swf file. This can make it hard to update and maintain but if you use ASP you can load all your text and stuff like that from a database. This makes it very easy to update. Two good sites to check out are
