BCM450 on Release 5 with Call Center. Can I load Element Manager onto the RCC server and update the BCM PEPs from there? Anyone see an issue with that?

Sure, you can load EM on the same computer as the RCC client.

Not sure what you mean about updating the PEPs from there though. You use EM to get access to the system to be able to load the patches, but where you store those patches is up to you. As long as the PC (EM)has access to the folder where you have the files unzipped, technically you can do it from anywhere.

I usually have element manager on all my RCC PCs/Servers.

Never have any issues with it.

I've done it on loads of RCC Servers and also make a shared folder to carry out Monthly BCM backups at night.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Thanks Firebird! I've installed EM on my RCC and it's working fine. My weekly backups to USB are failing so I'm trying to setup scheduled backups to the RCC. Planning on updating the PEPs on this 450 tomorrow night.

Are you trying to back it up to a USB port on the BCM? If so, make sure your stick is plugged into the bottom USB port and that it is formatted for FAT32. If you're trying to put it on a stick plugged into the PC, you have to make sure the path to it is correct.

Yes, the stick is plugged into the BCM. Not sure what port though. It worked up until a couple weeks ago and I had the onsite user put it into the RCC server and found it was full. We pulled everything off of it and had her put it back into the BCM but it still failed. While it was plugged into the RCC server I verified it was FAT32. Maybe she put it into the wrong BCM USB port?

My scheduled backup to network folder gives me a successful test connection so it should backup successfully tonight.
