Can cognos read a BO universe?

Hi,
I am about to join a project that is based on configuring BO universes to cognos catalogs. While I am basically a BO guy, I do have a working knowledge of Cognos too.The client seems to have had enough of BO and wants to switch to Cognos.

My question is:Can anybody who has worked on such a transition and configuration tell me how does it take place?
Can Cognos read BO universes?

I can only guess a crude form where the catalog designer looks the BO universe and the classes, objects and joins present in it and creates the same classes and joins in the catalog.
Or is there a way in which these two can talk to each other and just exchange the classes, objects and joins between each other?

Me...

We did a thorough study and compared each of the features that were important to us in a BI tool. In the end, Cognos and BO virtually tied. Some members of management leaned toward Cognos and others leaned toward BO. The Cognos ones one.

I've worked with BO for 6 years and I'm looking forward to learning ReportNet, which was designed to be a product to compete more closely with BO's offerings. As we switch I'll have fun posting my opinions here.
