Hi,

Not sure if this is a CE question or an IE6/Firefox question or a Salesforce question or a combination of one or more of these...but here goes in the CE section to start with!

Hope somebody can help with this request that our UAT group passed to me. We are running CE10 on a Windows 2000 server (SP4) using IIS.

We have designed a series of hyperlinks from our SalesForce implementation back to reports on our CE10 server.

We can get the reports to run with passed parmaters with no problems. These reports have several hyperlinks back to SalesForce data from which the reports were generated.

Whilst these hyperlinks also work fine, when the users click on them, a new window is opened to show the required data.

Is there any way of getting CE to open the link in the Salesforce webpage window that the report was called from, rather than opening a new window. (The users are saying that too many Salesforce windows are being opened which is confusing!)

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Harry Haines.

Hi Andrew. Thanks for the feedback. I'm a bit of an HTML noobie and was wondering if you be more specific how to implement this. If you are suggesting that I modify the hyperlink back to Salesforce from CE10, then I can concatenate something onto the back of the link string, e.g. " would become " (Reference anonomised to protect the innocent!) However, that doesn't work. Is it something like that or am I well wide of the mark? Many thanks for any further info. Harry.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for getting back again so quickly. Hmmm; not sure how I can implement your code here. When I am designing my report, I am going into "format field" for the field I want to hyperlink back to Salesforce from, and then selecting the "Hyperlink" tab. I am selecting "A Website On The Internet" radio button then going into the "Custom Formula" for "Website Address" button under "Hyperlink Information" section. In there, I then create the web address as follows: "https:/emea.salesforce.com/" & {ACCOUNT_ID}
I am not sure how I could write your HTML code into this formula and get it to work?

I may have a further problem as well. We use a CSP page to prompt for the additional parameters required to run the report (which we can open within the calling Salesforce window) but when the report is then run, we use the ActiveX viewer to display the report which operates as a seperate pop-up window. Therefore what we need the Hyperlink to do is to revert back to the grandparent window to display the hyperlinked Salesforce object.

Hope that makes things clearer ?!?!? (Or maybe not!)

Thanks for help up to now and for any further information.

Regards, Harry.

Unless a salesforce.com expert comes along, I think you're stuck with it.

In theory, you could use an interim window to reference back to the original window, but I think that browser security may stop that.
