Can CCM 4.0 work with SQL2005 Express

Hi,

Does somebody try this - use SQL 2005 express in CCM 4.0.

One customer CCM PC crashed, it is running W2k, MSDE. Now we want to change a new PC With W2003 server.

I have experience when I install the MSDE in W2003 server SP1, I need to input the CD key but what is it?

No propblem install the SQL 2005 express.

SQL 2005 is not compatible with CCM. The last major update of CCM was SP5 in mid-2005, SQL 2005 was not released until late 2005.

You can use SQL2000 SP3a, and it's licensed so maybe why you need the key.

Hi Parnum,

Thanks for feedback. My old way to install CCM is like this.

Install DNA, use SQL 2000 MSDE. Remove DNA, then the SQL 2000 MSDE retain. Then install CCM server.

From W2003 sever SP1 or above, you need the CD key when you chose SQL 2000 MSDE during the DNA setup.

But if the OS is W2003 server without service pack, no CD key is needed.
