Hi,

Can anyone suggest a good complete book on VB or VBA, that would discuss topics from beginner/intermediate levels to more advanced? I found the book VBA Developer's Handbook, 2nd Edition by Ken Getz, Mike Gilbert on Amazon which seemed like a very good book.

So if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!
(that way, I can stop bugging you guys with my questions! :))

Thanks!

Try "Microsoft Excel 2000 Power Programming with VBA" by John Walkenbach; IDG, Foster City CA, 1999, ISBN: 0764532634.

Hi Pascal,

I do a lot of programming in Excel, all self taught via the macro recorder and then via books. The ones I've found helpful are specific to Excel, and there are quite a few otu there. Please let me know if you are interested in VBA in general or a program specifically and I would be happy to give you a list of the one's I've found most helpful.

Leesha,

I seem to be heading in the same direction as you! I've been programming several macros in Excel and AutoCad, and I've been learning through the macro recorder. However, the more I program, the more I'm getting into more advanced techniques that the recorder just can't help me with! (Like accessing external files, or reading/writing to the registry, etc.) So ideally, I'd like to get a good book on "general VBA", but if those books aren't worth it, then I'd like to have get a book explaining VBA in 1) Excel, or 2) AutoCAD.

The book I found to be most complete was the one I mentioned in my previous post. It had very good reviews, and it talks about VBA in general. Other than that, most of the books seemed to talk about specific Microsoft programs.

Thank you very much for your help and information! :)
