FREE rich text box control with lots of formatting options. Our version of VB5 doesn't come with a license for the microsoft one.

Thanks

What version of VB do you use? If it's learning editipon, then you really do have a problem, but professional and Enterprise editions should have rich text boxes as part of them.

What might be a problem is an installation issue, as occationally, not all the controls are registered correctly. There is a utility available from the MSDN website ( that fixes this

This is a known problem with VB5. Look at thread222-49473 for a solution. (Although the question in this thrad was for another control, the answer applies equally well to the use of the RichTextBox) _________________________________

Thanks guys, that saved me a lot of effort. I just assumed that we had some sort of limited version, but I did wonder why the RichTextBox even appeared in the list of available controls!
