A dept in our company has a proxy account that they would like to set up an archive for. We had not done this before so we decided to test it and see. It seems that if you log into the proxy account, you can see and work with the archive. But if you log into your own account then go to the proxy account in which you have rights to, you can not see the archive. In fact, the archive options are not even available. Is there a way to avoid having to sign into the proxy account itself in order to work with archive?

Have you tried marking the option to modify options/rules/... in the proxy access. Not sure if that would make a difference or not.

Don't let that account archive?

Doing it the way you are asking would defeat the purpose of archiving and potentially create several different archive locations -- think about it if there were 10 people proxying into an account -- and they all archived stuff. Pretty soon it would be so confusing that you wouldn't be able to find any archive information if you ever needed it.

A better way would be to disable the internal archiving altogether and use an enterprise class solution that can be controlled by a central point. For example, GWArchive by Messaging Architects or Nexic Discovery.

Thanks for the input. However,it is a good idea to do an archive on this particular account. There will not be 10 people archiving to it...just some dated emails that will need to be kept for future important information. We are OK with the way it is working so far...even if we do have to sign onto it separately.
