Hi ,
I'm working on Solaris 8.
is it possible to create a package that install packages?

for instane create package testPKG that include gcc and top gnu packages.

no, a package can contain files, links, directories but not a package;
if you want to install more than one package you can install the packages on one host and create a new package containing all the files you want to install on the second/third/Nth... host

Thank you for the rapid reply.

another question:
can i include patches in a package and activate patchadd in postinstall?

I never tried, but I guess it will work; you can patch the installed packages first and then create the new package

should work, yes!

Another Idea: install packages, patch them and create a new package
