can 2 partners be networked together

I have a customer that has a fiber connection between to locations. He has two partners, would like to link them together.

use T1 cards maybe ?

I doubt that you can change from fxo to fxs on the T-1 card. AKA CO vs CPE. One would need to be CO(FXS) and the other would need to be CPE(FXO).

I have heard of folks using some sort of fiber dongle to emulate a copper T-1 crossover but the details escape me.

So the answer would be No and I don't remember.

The good news may be that IP Office apparently will soon be able to drive partner phones. I am unaware of all of the details but perhaps two IPOs in Partner mode will allow standard SCN.

the only way to "link" them that I have ever done was with line and extension ports plugged into each other and having the lines answered by voicemail so that they could pick the extensions they wanted to call.
Meaning extension 20 and 21 of one system are connected to line 9 and 10 on the other system and vice versa.
When you call 20 or 21 you will get the other systems AA and can pick the extension you want to dial.
Not an elegant solution but if you want elegant go with the IP Office.
Sorry I have not installed any T1 cards for Partners and can't tell on that solution

Networking Partner™s, that is an interesting question! On the surface, the answer is no, but thinking about it further from CarGoSki's post, another idea just popped up. You might be able to use a DS1 to tie them, if the channels are configured as 4-wire E/M channels with Wink-start/DTMF options and 2-digit feed for the "DID" numbers, etc. from both systems. It would be a manual process, utilizing the pool feature to place a call to the other location. Some one that has two of these suitably equipped Partner™s would need to do a test setup to work out any bugs and verify the limitations, and operational processes, but it may be possible!

....JIM....

Good point Jim. I labbed up some stuff today for a different site and determined that you can back-to-back T-1 Tie PBX E&M wink without the CO-CPE relationship in effect. Naturally this was between a IPO and Merlin and not two Partners with T-1s.

Still it is possibly doable as long as you can use a fiber to T-1 crossover do-hickey. Or fiber to do-hicky to CSU to Partner T-1.

It's people like you who generalize.

There is an add-on box from a company called Multicom that does a decent job of using internet bandwidth for dialtone - I have connected Magix this way, but not Partner. From what I remember, the manufacturer knew a heck of a lot more about Partner apps than Magix - it may be worth looking into.

Thank you very much for all your responses.
I will call them and see if they can do this over fiber
