or should go all the way to succession?

thanks.

Technically yes, but Nortel will only offer you an upgrade to Succesion as 25.40b was retired Oct last year

I dont think NORTEL will offer to upgrade to anything except Succession 3

Hi,

an 11C can't be upgraded to 25.40b anymore. If you want to upgrade you MUST upgrade to succession rls 3.

But if you untill september/october release 4 will be released

Succession 3.0 has been extended to December 17th. From a $$$ standpoint it is usually better to go to 3.0 first then take advantage of the 3.0 to 4.0 software programs. Ask you vender about Nortel's SRS software maintenance program. This can get you free upgrades for a smaller annual fee. It may work in your favor, but you need to price it out each way to be sure.

It's my understanding, the upgrade express has been extended until December but you have to have a letter of intent from the customer to Nortel before 9/17/04.

On 9/20/04 all new system orders will be shipped with 4.0.

Keep in mind that you will have to designate your TN's for either digital, analog or IP when going to Succession. You no longer have a pool of say 1000 TN's to use for any type of port. These ports must be pre-designated to 700 digital, 300 analog, etc....

True, you do need to assign the ISM's to digital and analog, but you also have the ability of converting them at no charge (Digtal to Analog OR Analog to digital)

Also, if you have multiple sites, you can assign a switch "Pool" and swap ISM's between any of the systems. There is a small registration charge to 'pool' the switches, but after that you can move them around as needed.
