I have been reported a problem whereby external users calling into the main switchboard operator get passed to a busy extension. When this happens the call is queued "Camp on" is the Ericsson term i belive. Anyway in this situation our callers do not get a ring tone, beeps or anything and therefore do not know if the call has been lost or what is happening.

My questions are these:

Is a camped call effectively "on hold" and as such will Music On Hold work to fill the void?

Is there an ASPAP or something that can be changed to extend a ringing tone down the line?

Thanks in Advance
Al

[red]Striker : My orders came through. My squadron ships out tomorrow, we're bombing the storage depots at Daiquiri at 18:00 hours. We're coming in from the North, below their radar.[/red]

Camp-On is the same as on-hold, they will hear nothing. Music on hold should fill the gap, I'll check in Alex for the correct procedure.

Aspac 177 determines if music on hold or connect tone sould be sent for each MOH input.

If you set aspac 177 to 7 then it will provide tone to each MOH channel.

Try this, I will find out some more......

Thank you for that, parnum 177 is already set at 7 here and still no tones, If i remember correctly there is a problem in the UK market with Tones not being provided (an external source is required).

Thanks for your help
Al

Stick a MOH system in then, all you need is a cheap CD player or something similar. Run the "headphone" leads out onto the TMU boards and you're away.

The only thing you should be aware of is the Performing Rights Society, I believe they can get a bit funny about certain music and sometimes demand a license fee. An old customer of mine had Elton John playing on their MOH (don't ask me why...) and got caught by PRS.

You can buy specific MOH Cd's that just feature instrumental versions of most types of music.

Nice work Slash, thanks for your help.. Good point on the PRS, i did know that from my days in service, but had completely forgotten it !!

Cheers

Can anyone advise on the process for changind PARNUM 154 back up to PARVAL=2, it says the TMU boards have to be removed from the system. I have tried to change it one LIM at a time, and this has failed. I have done it in the past but do not remember how.

My next step would be to remove all the TMU's at the same time and then change the PARNUM, i am however unable to do this at present as the switchboards are logged on.. Any tips appreciated would like to complete this in working hours if possible.

Cheers
Al

Hi

I've done that also in the past; if I remember well, remove from the system mean doing a CNBOE and then a CNHUI (CNBOI)

Cheers

fouesnant

brave minds think alike... Yeh that was phase two!! Cheers, will try that is there is no alternative.

Regards
Al

I had to CNBOE all TMU boards in the system, change the parnum and then CNHUI.

Parnum is now changed.

Cheers
