When a 5410 is on DND, and I call their DID, the call goes to their voicemail but it doesn't show up in their call log. I have "Log Missed Calls Answered by Coverage" checked in the system/call log tab. I'm assuming it doesn't log because the phone doesn't ring. Can this be changed? Thanks

That's not a missed call though, that's a diverted/forwarded to VM call, no it can't be changed. They know to deal with it due to the VM though (assuming it was important enough to leave a message) :)

If they want to handle calls more efficiently/more responsibly, why don't they forward calls to someone who will answer instead of going into DND? :)

Try this: set the phone's divert on no answer destination to *17 and program a button for enable/disable divert on no answer.
See what happens.

The caller will probably asked to enter extension and voicemail code...

Voicemail is already a selectable destination for forwards, no need for codes :)

Yes but a transfer to a shortcode is different as a selectable destination so maybe calls routed to a shortcode maybe logged as a missed call.
if necessery create a shortcode like *99/"#extensionnumber/Voicemail collect/0 and use that as a destination.

They like to call people back from the call log. Next time I'm out there, I'll give that a try. That just may work. Thanks

Another idea:
Create a collective group with VM enabled after a desired time, set the user as only member.
Forward the user unconditionally to the above group but NOT group calls and NOT internal calls, disable VM for this user and enable "missed group calls".

If a external call arrives it will be forwarded to the group and the phone will ring until the VM answers the call, as this user is the original target for VM the call will go in the users VM box.
If a internal user calls this user the phone will ring but it will not go to VM.
Other group calls will also ring the phone.

VM has an option to call back the caller when listening o the message

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear
