Hi all,
We have a Mitel 3300 CX with rls 8.0 pr1 active sw load 14.0.0.91 .One PRI and 4 analog trunks . There are no issues of disconnection whatsoever for local or long distance calls. However, when we make a call to an International Conference Bridge (in UK) we observe disconnection of calls after being in conference for two minutes and getting a fast busy tone and "time out" on the display.Sometimes they stay but many a times they would disconnect. This is happening from any extension that tries calling into the Conference Bridge. We have taken traces earlier on an extension which experienced this disconnection issue. Here it is :

We couldn't figure out from where this disconnection was happening from these traces. Can anyone please help us to understand and make changes in Mitel controller (if any) accordingly ?

EDIT :
Note : Upon observation we have found that when we turn on the mute key on the IP phones then this disconnect happens If not muted then the call lasts and doesn't disconnect.

Sounds like its a problem at the other end ( conference bridge)

do other external calls also drop if they are muted, or only those to the bridge ?

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Dear Billz66,
Thank you responding. This issue is happening only for outbound calls to the conference bridge. All other calls are working fine irrespective of turning on the mute key or not. We also observed that while being mute on a conference bridge call if we press any key then the call gets extended by another 2 minutes before getting disconnected.

Thank you

Where I understand that Billz66 was going with his question is the conference bridge is actively scanning each active channel for sound to determine if there is a connection of not.

If it does not detect any sound for 2 minutes it disconnects.

Find a way if the same thing happens by calling in on a cell phone using the same method and muting the cell phone.

This might have been put in place by the Conf Bridge Provider to prevent calls from being held active after disconnect and leading to billing issues.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

Dear kwbMitel,
When calling in from a cell phone and then muting it the calls doesn't disconnect .

Thank you

From your CCS trace I can see two calls, the first call is ended by the called party (Conference bridge in this case) the second call is ended by something on the Mitel side.

The RI means inbound message RO is outbound message.

1st Call
16:50:22 RI700 DPN A CCM *58*CP*G#
Call Connected Message. The call has been connected and a conversation can now take place over a voice channel.
16:53:09 RI700 DPN 17 CRM/CIM ;30;*166*1 2 3 4#*234*D@# (Incoming message)
Clear Request Message/Clear Information Message. The value 30 means the call completed normally.

2nd Call
16:53:36 RI700 DPN A CCM *58*CP*G#
16:55:09 RO700 DPN 2 CRM/CIM ;30; (Outgoing message)

Dear all,
Thank you for helping me out. It was because of your suggestions the i was able to isolate the issue. It seems that the issue is with conference bridge service provider.I had tested by dialling into this conference bridge number from a different PBX system (Siemens Hipath 3550) and i found the same disconnection issue happening. So I asked customer to take up this issue with the Conference Bridge service provider .

Once again I thank everyone for helping me out.

Thank you
