My company doesn't allow web access to our callpilot system and so when I'm remote I can't reset user passwords; is there anyway I can call the system and reset mailbox passwords like through an admin mailbox like other systems have?

All CallPilot's have a serial or modem port built in. You can setup dialup networking and call using specific user names and passwords to access the CalllPilot Manager.

Thanks Doc :)... I com from the Mitel & NEC world and that dial up use a GUI, is the same true for the Callpilot or is it a hyperterm interface (CLI)?

It's basically the same. You'll use dial-up networking and then when connected, open your browser and tag the IP for your device and login. You'll have to use Java 1.5 in the background instead of the newer Java. The docs are in the Callpilot CD with user and password information.

Doc,

I really appreciate your help on this... I'm just about there. Since I have DOD JITC hardened server I had to run a couple of .bat files to enable TS & Dial-up services so I've got a little more to deal with than the average install.

Here's the deal so far... I have an XP (SP2) OS @ home, I dial the number (using dial-up networking per how manual says to with no encryp on either end to start with), I hear it dial out, ring, other end answers (modem tone) and then it just sits there until I get a 721 error (Error 721: The remote computer is not responding)and then I get no call back so I have to cancel out.

Any tips for me?

Hope you enjoy the weekend ;)

Doc,

it does say "verifying user name and password" before I get the 721 modem error... I also recorded the log on the modem at the switch U.S. Robotics and it says AT#CLS=? command not supported in the log... I've also heard that 721 errors can come from modem drivers not compatible with XP so I'm checking into that as well.

Use the NtDist user with it's password for Dial Up Networking. Set your dial-up "Networking" for auto detect and it will attach to the 137.135.128.xxx CallPilot IP.
