I have a callpilot Mini that was removed from a customer site. The default IP address never changed. The software release says rel 01 2003/02/04. I can ping it and telnet to it (don't know the password to get in though) When I connect it to any norstar system I cannot access it. I am not sure where to start or how to factory default this to regain connectivity. Thanks in advance.

If it is a Call Pilot Mini then it will not connect to a Norstar Sytem. The Mini went with the bigger Option 11 systems. The only diffence between the Call Pilot Mini and a Call Pilot 150 is the software.

There is a sequence to reset the password. Some mini's did work with the Norstar systems-I have put them in myself.
Connect it to your Norstar and see if the system recognises it-see if it appears on the port.
Then you can do feature 985 and reset the password.

Well it came off a working CICS, I have tried a couple different KSU's and no luck. I was hoping to console in or through the browser and factory default it as I can't get it to come up on a KSU.

that's the problem if it does not connect to the ksu it just keeps rebooting ,trying to connect, so you will not be able to access it

the ksu you are connecting to may have to have a older software level ,it may just be incompatible with the newer software

if the mini is a 1.0 you may try a dr1.1 for the cics

Did you give it 10 minutes?
Hook up a laptop and hyper into the 9 pin to see whats going on with the boot sequence.
Also try another PS, make sure its 8 volt and not the defective 9 volts.

It is a 9V power supply that came off a newer call pilot. I watched it boot up and it waits, and then reboots again, this just continues. When I telnet I get a username and password prompt but have no idea what to enter. Everything on it should still be default IP address is definetely 192.168.100.10

Mike sorry did not see your response, It was hooked up to a CICS with 5.1 SW I believe. I tried every level of SW except 1.1 which I dont think I have. I will try that and you are right it does just keep rebooting.

Thanks for all the responses, much appreciated.

I think you can open it up and short the Cap out to default it. Not sure though.

The newer power supply is 8V, the 9V had issues so that may be part of your problem. Another thing to check is make sure that the system that you are connecting to now has the same DN length as the system it came off of. I have seen them not come up if the length did not match.
