Need to have the lamp only feature to light a Viking VR-1A Universal Visual Indicator that is connected to a Cisco ATA186. Presently all I can get is stutter tone out of the ATA and it drives the indicator crazy. Can not turn the light off after checking messages. Put in a regular phone with a light and is doesn't work either. Only stutter tone. Is it possible for the CCM or ATA to provide lamp only to this device once CallPilot send the MWI?

what is the device built as in the nortel.. analog in that box would require cls lpa

CallPilot is attched to an Opt81C. It is sending the MWI to the Cisco ATA via a T-1 PRI to the Cisco Call Manager.

If the station programming is in the Cisco, then the issue lies in the Cisco. The MWI message across the T1/PRI from the Nortel to the Cisco doesn't care / matter whether the end device is lamp, stutter, etc.

I'd try the Cisco forum regarding that programming.

Also is the 81 configured as QSIG. That seems to be the best option and makes both sides happy.

Have tried asking the question in the CCM forum. No responses.

Yes, QSIG is on and the Cisco 79XX type phones work fine with their message waiting indication. The problem only lies with the ATA.

We have a call in to Cisco but it's only been 2 days since that happened. Guess this isn't a high priority issue for them!!!
