Just received a bulletin from our vendor stating that we need to schedule a maintenance window to replace the power supply. Just an FYI to those out there who haven't seen this yet.

Problem Description
The SCSI power cable used in the CallPilot 1002rp Rackmount platform may possibly include the following defects and exhibit the associated symptoms.

Scenario 1 – SCSI power cable with in-line fuse
Introduced in the original retrofit from P-2005-0038-Global-Rev1, the fused power cable may limit current required by the drives resulting in one or more of the following symptoms:
• RAID card will “hang” during drive initialization during a system reboot
• Hard drives report failures or are randomly marked as faulty
• RAID card/Power Console Utility NVRAM will log sense key error codes (typically 0x1C errors)
• System will fail multiple drives as soon as another failed drive is found

While the most likely time of failure is during a reboot, the limited power may also be seen during times of normal operation.

Scenario 2 – SCSI power cable without any fusing
The original SCSI power cable used did not prevent an over-current condition should a “short” occur within the SCSI sub-system. While the probability of a SCSI sub-system short is low, it has been observed two times out of approximately 1200 servers shipped worldwide. In both cases, the condition occurred within two to three months of installation, suggesting an early life failure.

**I have the document but not sure how to attach and place in the thread???**
