I'm working on a CICS (rel 7) and a CallPilot 100. I've set up their lines with a "night key" and I'm hitting the CallPilot just fine.

The customer wants all after hours calls to go straight into General Delivery. She will have a night message on the mail box.

Problem is that when I get the CallPilot it starts asking for extension, directory etc. I want to bypass/turn this off and have the calls go straight into the GDel. box.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Jim

I am assuming that the phone attached to the General Delivery Mailbox is one where the line(s) ring, like a receptionist phone.

If so, and if you want the GDM to answer instead of the AutoAttendant, then the "night" button should be a Feature 984 (forward to vm) on this recept phone.

Before they leave at night, hit this "night" button. Then, all calls that ring to that phone will go right into the mailbox.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your help. That is close to what I would have liked to have done. The office manager is adamant that they don't have a receptionist so I have made the T7316 set (sta 21)the control set (arbitrarily) which is one of the staff.

What I ended up doing is turning the CallPilot into a glorified answering machine that can be accessed by anyone with the pswd for the Gen.Del box.

I changed the CallPilot prompt to a custome prompt to "Thank you for calling XYZ, we are now closed. If you wish to leave a message please stay on the line". A few seconds later the call transfers to the GenDel. A further information message is then recorded, like emergency contact numbers etc. This is easily modified with the usual mail box prompts. Quite awkward compared to your method but it is what they wanted. I couldn't remember about the default CallPilot prompts and how to get rid of them. Thanks again.
ps: do you see any pitfalls with this solution?

If you're using "Return to AA", after leaving a message in a mailbox, if a caller remains on the line they will be sent to AA and hear "Thank you for calling XYZ, we are now closed. If you wish to leave a message please stay on the line".

No, I'm pretty sure I left that unchecked as there is nothing else in there except the into message. I suggested they just plug in their old answering unit thru the ATA port.
