I have 2 CallPilot that seems to have a secret password which I saw on the callPilot manager under the access password using a direct ethernet connection it has approximately 8 caracters.I have tried to activate the modem with F984 and (4) it does not work. When I access the CallPilot and dial two ** it ask me for the mailbox number and the passwork but no modem access.I have done some reboot but no results.I am wondering if the modem access have been blocked on the recent CallPilot, any help on this would be appreciated.

I have spoken to Nortel Dealers on what this modem access doea, and they said its more like software upgrades (they did not explain it that much in detail.) They said its not something useable..

Modem access is under F983, under i believe option 4. scroll and you should be able to see Modem. Once you turn it on you can call your AA and dial some digits. All this information is in the CD under installation and maintenance.

The callpilot should answer with a modem tone once you put in those digits.

Modem access is simply to allow you to dial in remotely and use the browser to do any programming.
NamLy is right...once you get to the modem under F983 - 4 it will then ask you to enter a desired password.
From the remote PC you then dial into AA and press **102XXXX, (102 if 3 digit system,1002 if 4 digit etc) and XXXX is the modem password you entered under F983, then you will here a countdown then press connect.

Curly,

How did you program remotely. Everytime I used it, I was unsuccessful. It would say Network Not Found or something like that.

Thanks

NamLy555, did you use the CPsecure program ( found on the Call Pilot CD) before you tried to connect?

are you talking about the secure modem mode?? If so yes.

If you follow the steps in the book it should work like a champ.
