If all ports on the callpilot are in use, what happens to the next caller? For example, if there are 16 ports and they are busy, will the 17th call get busy or no answer? Is there a way to send the callers to an operator/receptionist? Thanks.

It really depends how the system is configured. Yes there is a way to send it to the receptionist, and that would happen if the system is set up for it.

For instance, if the receptionist is the prime set for the lines, and all the VM ports were busy, it would ring to the receptionist. This is a typical setting that is enabled by default, so it may already be enabled on your system.

Thanks. The receptionist is the prime set. Is there a way to verify how many callpilot ports are configured? I want verify it for myself (someone told me it was 16 ports).

In your post you say this is a call pilot.
How may call pilots do you have?
The maximum for a single call pilot is 8 channels AFIK.

To test that all your ports are working you can simultaneously access the CP from 8 different phones (or 16 if you have 2, or a 16 port NAM)

Is this CP you are referring to connected to a Norstar MICS?

Thanks. I found a port usage report which shows the number of ports and % busy.
