Hi there !

I used to use on my BCM 3.7 the software of callpilot "C:\Program Files\Nortel Networks\CallPilot\Managers\F981Gui.exe"

But on R6 this is not working anymore ! So i installed the lastest Callpilot software from R6 and i can't see any mailbox management.. we are oblige to manage them by web interface ?

Thanks,
Mike

I do not really understand what your getting at or what the issue is or anything for that matter....sorry!

"I used to use on my BCM 3.7 the software of callpilot "C:\Program Files\Nortel Networks\CallPilot\Managers\F981Gui.exe"
Do you mean you used to use that link to program Callpilot?

"But on R6 this is not working anymore"
What is not working? the same link that was meant for an older BCM?

"So i installed the lastest Callpilot software from R6"
What software from where?
installed onto what?

"we are oblige to manage them by web interface ?"
Yes, all Callpilots are programmed via Web Browser since it's birth.

It's me sorry... my english is not that good.. especially when i literaly write it !!!

before i had a 3.7 so all PC clients had the CallPilot Unified Messaging client from the 3.7 for outlook and it worked fine.
Now i upgraded for a 450R6, but all PC clients stayed with the CallPilot Unified Messaging of the 3.7 because it still works anyway.
BUT ! the CallPilot Unified Messaging for 3.7 offers this software "C:\Program Files (x86)\Nortel Networks\CallPilot\Managers\F981Gui.exe"
This tool makes the user able to manage its mailbox options and import voice name or announces etc. Now with R6, the feature which manages mailbox from callpilot software doesn't work anymore (Software from 3.7)

So i upgraded the CallPilot Unified Messaging client which turned now to avaya, and there is no more F981Gui.exe to manage your personal mailbox options, as i have seen and it's new to me because on 3.7 there was no Web Based for the user to manage its own mailbox.

So, is the feature to manage your mailbox option via software of Unified Messaging desktop not possible anymore ?

That is not really called software, it's a link to the Callpilot's "Mailbox Manager" web browser.
You can use the link exsmogger provided above or BCM-IP/MailboxManager is easier to remember which in turn points to the above anyway.
Same goes for BCM-IP/CallpilotManager

As for Unified Messaging you can also use "Message Forwarding".
This will forward the message as .wav to the email address of your choice since mobiles do not support UM.

Exactly !

It was more easy for the user to manage it mailbox by this program F981Gui.exe which use port 135 instead of 80 for R6.

ALSO ! if i go on R6 Mailbox manager to manage a Fax on demand mailbox i get this nice message...

"You cannot log into mailbox 650 using this application." So what application else i can ?

I remember that i seen on the nortel Callpilot user guide for BCM450 5.0 ...

So in R6 Unified Mailbox manager has been removed ?

My only option with R6 Unified Mailbox is ...

Instead of (3.7 Version)

Were we can see there is a Mailbox manager, and this is how i managed mailbox and fax on demand on 3.7..

I have no idea now how i can do it with the avaya version and 3.7 version say (Communication Error), i wonder if the callpitol client of R5.0 still offer that option, if yes i may work on R6 system ?

Thanks,
Mike

I have news, apparently this feature disapear only on R6. It's fully working on a BCM450 R5.

Very strange and why !?

I don't have a R5 in hands to compare what is the difference, but i strongly belive this feature is not deleted but only disabled.

I just know that feature is releated to the port 135 open on 3.7 and R5.0 but closed on R6, This port is used by Remote Call Procedure (RPC)requested by the voicemail system service according to my 3.7

The feature make able to Manage Mailbox and Operator.

If anyone have an pertinent information or also tell me why it get removed on R6 it's very appreciated!

Thanks,
Mike

Very strange and why !?"

All I can think of is "who uses Fax On Demand anymore?"
In fact it was hardly used since it's birth that I recall, it's such old technology.

You are Right.

However it was just more simple to manage your mailbox on PC instead to get an access to IP>/Voicemail-cgi-bin/MyPhone.exe, when you are in a other location, you don't have access to it.. but the C:\Program Files (x86)\Nortel Networks\CallPilot\Managers\F981Gui.exe use port 135 easy to unlock vs 443.. Not only about a fax but managing the voicemail settings and operator..

Thanks for the reply.

I just experienced, i made a super nice montage for my voicemail...
I lost the original file.... i told my self Great ! i will just export mine on BCM like i always did on 3.7..

The super nice web interface alias IP>/Voicemail-cgi-bin/MyPhone.exe don't offer that feature !

No way to export, only import... BUT on the mailbox manager avalaible on ALL version except R6 i have the great option !

I wonder if i can downgrade to R5 ?
