CallPilot Fax Failing

We just upgraded to 4.0 from 3.7. Faxing from the desktop has always been "dicey" in that it never consistantly worked. With 4.0, it doesn't seem to work at all. Here is the trace message from CPTrace. I tried it with and without the 9, and got the same results. Any ideas?

No, we haven't found a solution yet. I upgraded to the latest patches on our BCM400 version 4.0 last night. I was able to send a fax out ok, but when I tried to have one of my users send a fax, it failed with the error:
CSMTPServer::Send SMTP Failure <421>
Send message::UnknownFailure
SendSMTPMessage()::end
CSMTPServer::Send SMTP connection closed

What is going on?

So I just tried to send again, and it failed for me with the same error. Seems nothing was solved. We are still getting spotty success.

1)try to check off outgoing/ingoing smtp/vpim
in messaging ->netwrok message delivary
2)unAuthenticated
check u r port 25

I'm lost blackeagle85. Can you step me through this with a little more detail? I don't know where "messaging" is. Is that in the Element Manager, is it an OS thing? Where do I find it?

no it's in the callpilot manager.
turn of u r firewall and anti virus

test ur port
run->cmd->#telnet -ur callpilot ip- 25
in linux make a netstat

Ok, I went into the callpiolot manager and I don't see those settings anywhere. I am also able to telnet to the port.
Sent 3 more faxes, 2 worked, the 3rd didn't.
