If I run a callpilot backup will it cause the system to go down? Can this be done during normal business hours?

Thanks

I've never known a call pilot backup to cause problems during the day, but it's always good practice to back it up when there isn't as much activity on it.

Where possible, try and back it up across the network, rather than via the tape drive if you are using one.

I would always do regular backups after hours. As mentioned, a network backup would be better as it is much faster.

It's a phone system, NOT a clock!

we have 81C of almost 4000 users, and backup CP at office hours, nothing happens to the system

Never a good idea to back up any server during peak traffic. Unless it is an emergency then run a scheduled backup during non business hours. A network backup is preferred for speed but make sure you always have access to that drive. I have seen on numerous occasions where the backup path is obsolete and no one ever knew the difference. So it is good practice to monitor these backups regularly and make sure they complete without errors. Tape backup is slow but the newer RDX Drives are fantastic.
