Greetings,

A few months ago we had our MMail system replaced with Callpilot 03.03.06.03. I've hadn't had any need to use App Builder a whole lot since our menus don't change that much. When the system was installed, App Builder on my PC worked fine. Now recently when I try to log into it using the App Builder client, I get "Could not connect to AOS server." If I try again, I get "Could not set COM security level, hr=80010119."

I've tried uninstalling it, rebooting, and reinstalling it on my PC with no change. My co-worker has it on her PC and she can login just fine...no errors. We are both on the same subnet. I can ping the server and I can use the CallPilot web interface without a hitch. Just suddenly I can no longer use App Builder.

Please let me know if more info is needed.

Thanks in advance!!

sounds like you've done everything i would have tried, has anyone changed the security settings of your pc? can you use your network login on the working pc and get to app builder? can be a pc block or a network security block. i use a laptop to test network problems, lot of things on the network may allow ping but nothing else.. it doesn't sound like a server or application problem

I just tried App Builder on my co-workers PC with my sign on and I got in just fine. Went back to my box, tried it again...same error messages. :( I don't even know what an AOS server is and why it's trying to contact it.

My IP and my co-workers IP are only one number away from each other on the same segment.

I'm not aware of any security setting changes on our network or my PC. I'm one of 3 local LAN, PC, Server, PBX, etc admins in our facilty. Jack of all...master of none.

You could try this (on your PC):

Turn on DCOM as per the following steps (ON CLIENT PC):

1) Bring up command line window: Start -> Run ->CMD

2) Type in "dcomcnfg" without quote.
The "Distributed COM Configuration Properties" window will appear.

3) Click on TAB "Default Properties".

4) Check "Enable Distributed COM on this computer".

5) Click APPLY
No reboot needed

Sandyml is officially my hero! Checking that checkbox worked like a charm! After I check it and confirmed that App Builder works again, I was curious to see how my co-worker's PC was setup. It too had that box checked where mine wasn't.

I'm not sure what version of Windows the steps you gave were for, but they are a little different for XP. Here is how I did it on my XP PC.

1) Goto the command prompt and type "dcomcnfg" without the quotes.
This will bring up the "Component Services"

2) Expand "Component Services" on the left.

3) Expand "Computers"

4) Right Click "My Computer" and select "Properties"

5) Select the "Default Properties" tab

6) Check "Enable Distributed COM on this computer"

Thanks SO much for your help!!!
