Will the desktop client for callpilot version 2.02 work with callpilot 5.0? We currently have desktop client 2.5 and server 2.02. We're upgrading from 2.02 to 5.0. But the only problem we see is not being able to upgrade the desktop client prior to upgrade. So again, will the 2.5 desktop client work with callpilot 5.0??

usx...the answer is no you will have to upgrade the
desktop message clients also.

i understand that you have to upgrade the clients but we were just wondering if the old client would work until we got everyone upgraded. With 2.02 server you can't upgrade the desktop client prior to upgrade so we're kind of in a pickle here :)...so, will it work until we get everyone upgraded?

usx...desktop messaging 2.02 will work with 2.02 server.
desktop messaging 2.02 will not work with 5.0 server.

we just finished the migration over to the new callpilot 5.0 from callpilot 2.02 server. Everything went well and also the 2.02 desktop client DOES WORK with callpilot 5.0 SO that gives us time this week to gewt everyone upgraded on their desktops too. Thank goodness!!

usx...you are lucky on that one.my 2.02 did not work
with 5.0 good luck.

come in today thinking we'll only have some issues with passwords and such and we get a call from our swtichboard that no calls are coming in. So we see that the symposium link dropped. To make a long story short the switch has initted(sp) a few times today and also callpilot dropping.....we've come to the conclusion that the new callpilot is broadcasting out spyware(somehow a new server got infected with something) and broadcasting it out to our switch, otm and symposium. So needless to say we're in a pickle here.

usx...you are not in a pickle what you need and your
vendor should have known that if you put your
callpilot server on a clan it needs a router placed
between the clan and your network blocking broadcast
messages per NORTEL...

the spyware didn't come from our network, it came drectly from the new server itself. It's like it came straight from nortel with the spyware already loaded on it.
