Went to re-install my Callpilot software Ver. 2.01.26 on the I201. Only to find my Server CD is bad. I've also got Callpilot CD's for Ver. 2.01.27 for another system. I'm thinking I should be able to use those to reload. But before I do I thought I would ask.

Two Questions...

1. Does anyone know if I can use the Server CD for CP 2.01.27 to reinstall with Keycodes for CP 2.01.26

or

2. Does anyone have a copy of the Server CD for CP 2.01.26 I could get a copy of?

Thanks,
StinkTech

1: Yes, you can use the keycodes on 2.02.27

2: Why don't you use the Ghost image to reinstall?? So much faster

Thanks...I will try the reinstall with the .27 disk. BTW: Where would I get the Ghost image?

BTW: I heard elsewhere that if the CD's are from another system that using the keycodes for this system wouldn't work. This does not make sense to me. This would mean that Nortel would have to burn the install software cd's to match each specific keycode.

I'm curious to know how specific Nortel Callpilot keycodes are Major Version, Minor Version, Revision (Will 2.01.23 Keycodes only work with 2.01.23 media or will the Keycodes work with 2.01.?? or 2.??.?? media)?

If they are image disks, they are specific to the platform. As I remember from the os install days they were not. You were just asked the platform you were using during the install, if you put the wrong platform type in. I think the warning was if you answered incorrectly you would have to reinstall the software.

Your keycodes are a specific platform and you must have the image disk for that platform.

As far as getting the image software you either buy it from nortel or find someone who has a copy that will share with you so you can make your own copy.

The images will be available on the Nortel web site (though I have not looked of recent times). If I pick it correctly, the GHO image for a 2.02.27 is about 340Mb, plus you will need the ghost.exe (600K and very DOSy ie: no mouse etc).

The CDs will be transferable from system to system, the keycodes are not. The exception here is that a 201I set of disks will be no good in a 1002 server etc.

You will need a language disk. This will be used when the config wiz is run. Language disks will effectively be transferable between server types, but not really between software issues.

You will need any 2.02.27 peps that are current.

If you have CDs, do you have a ROM drive? If no ROM drive, do you know how to map your PC to the CP so that you can load off the PCs CD drive?
