We are rolling out XP Pro to our users this year and are running into quirks with the Call Master VI sofware. We are unable to put someone on hold and call someone else. Also having issues transferring and conferencing calls. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Is there new software or a possible patch that we need?
Thanks

We had a similar problem with our Callmaster VI phones and XP when we started buying updated PC's. I'm guessing you are unable to download the phone data from the PBX and that is what is causing the other problems. We tried all kinds of things to get it to work. We finally found out that if you install XP Service Pack 1 on the computer it will work correctly and you will be able to download the phone data. That should solve your problem. Oh, and by the way, Avaya was no help when we called about this problem!

Hope this helps,

Josh

Hey Josh,
Thanks for letting me know. When we image our PC's they already have XP-SP1 on them. I had a chance to talk to my vendor, who spent some time on the phone with AVAYA and they said that the CentreVu Agent software will not work with XP and we have to upgrade to IP Agent (the replacement of CentreVu Agent)and configure it for Callmaster VI. This may be just a plot to get us to drop more $$$..... who knows
Thanks again for getting back to me.
Have a great day!

Within XP you should also be able to try running in what is called compatibility mode. I don't know if it will help, but you may want to try it before spending $$$$$$$

I have rolled out CentreVu Agent to WinXP Pro (from Win98)and found with pre-SP1 I had to set the Compatibility Mode to 2000 to get the phone data download to work. But now when I have installed it on new machines post-SP1, the data download works fine.

I just scored the IP Agent V4 software. I loaded it onto an XP-SP1 box and the Callmaster VI phone works manually.
I set the station up for 606A1 and all of the mandatory buttons popped in. When I tried to download the phone data, I had my headset on, I could hear the paste code go through, and then I heard a couple of tones (numbers)go through and then I heard the alarm tone. Obviously it failed the download. It would sporatically give me an error that a "release button has not been administered", but it was there in the station.
Is it time to punt?
