Our callmanagers have been crashing left and right for the last two weeks
Cisco seems to have no clue
some times the service crashes on one server sometimes one two at the same time
Any ideas?>
Any errors in the event log?
Possible virus/spyware infection?
Sometimes if you run port scanner against CCM server (some versions) it will crash services.
We had trend server protect running before, and didnt pick up anything, we shut it down thinking it might be causing the issue but nope. we also shut down snmp thinking ITEM or regular cisco works might be overloading it with polling but didnt help.
I ram Mictrosoft malicios removal software but it found nothing
i am running microsoft spam software just for the hell of ti
so far nothing either
the error in the evnt log says that the ccm service has restarted
and the CCM trace said that the SDL timer timed out
Also, what hardware are you running CM on? Did you buy the hardware of Cisco or did you build your own servers? Were they built to Cisco's specifications?
Well cisco was on the case for tweo weeks, but we finally asked for help from PAul Giralt and he figured it out
It seems our 7920's with 2.0 load send a double softkey request to ccm, which ccm misinterprets and that creates a memory corruption which resets the ccm service.
it seems its a known bug!
For my own reference, in what version of CallManager was this occurring? Do you know if it has been resolved in a more recent release? Did Paul give you a Bug ID?
