Hi,

Does anyone know if Cisco CallManager has API function to add new clients (new phones) and update profiles? I'd like to do all the call manager admin functions from our company workflow engine.

Thanks,
Andrew

They sure do. I am not sure how powerful it is, but there is a TAPI available for CM.

I also know that you can add phones and do various other things by editing the SQL database directly. I am sure Cisco doesnt recommend this, but it is possible. Just remember that Cisco has a very weird way of storing IP addresses and dates and time in the database.

Is there a way of doing these functions using XML (or some other friendly API) instead of TAPI?

Thanks.

You can do a little with XML, but not the really good stuff like adding phones. XML is mainly used to develop services for the phone and such. You can use it to do paging and things like that, but not to really make changes.

There is book on that from CiscoPress.

It will get you started, but its not very in depth.
