Callman (Publisher and Subscrber) / IPCC / Unity move 2

I have a few questions.

I know when you move Callman Pub and Sub to a new location you should move the Publisher first. However in what order should I move the IPCC and Unity servers?

I'd do Router, Logger, HDS / AW.
Or you could have Unity moved with CCM at the same time...

The router will stay in the same building. We moved our IS dept to a new location (across the street connected with fiber) we are in the process of building a new data center now. I'm thinking I will leave the Sub in the old building witch still holds 300 or so people and move the PUb to the IS building. Each locaton has their own PRI’s that’s why I am leaving one router in the old building. So I think the order of the move should go like this.

Pub/unity

i believe the router vampirej is talking about is a server thats part of the IPCC suite. not the PSTN gateway router.
 
Ah ok. I might be way off here ( I don’t know too much about the IPCC stuff) but I think we only have the one IPCC server no other gear for it. Our helpdesk is only has 10 people on it, not sure if this matters at all.

Once your CallManager's are up and running, it makes no difference in what order you move Unity and IPCC. They really don't interact in most cases.

I can't seem to find the requirements for having the Pub and Sub in different locations. the connection between sites will be fiber.
 
you will be fine. pub and subs can be located in diferent states.

ipccx is typically 1 server unless a redundant server is installed.
 
There are bandwidth requirements for call manager pub and sub due to SQL replication.
From CISCO's SRND it is considered a requirement to have 100 meg connection between sites and SYSTAINED ping times of 40ms or less at the same time.
That said you can have pub and sub in two different locations, not meet the requirements and have no issues at all as JacobNunley mentioned.

However if any issues arise (and I mean any) and TAC finds out that you do not meet the requirements they will ask you to fix that before they troubleshoot any further as you will be outside the design guides.

You should be OK as you have fiber connecting the two sites.
 
I have a Sub remote from the Pub across an MPLS network. The Pub site has a DS3, 45Meg connection and the remote site has a 15Meg connection. This configuration was approved by Cisco's local SE's. I have had no issues but my Ping rate is problably around 10ms. But I am also using UCM 5.1 that doesn't use SQL.

It used to be you needed a DEDICATED T-1 between the sites for SQL replication. I haven't looked at the newest SRND so that may have changed.

I am not disputing what whykap said, I just haven't seen it yet. Since UCM 5 and 6 don't use SQL, maybe it has changed considerably.
 
With a 10ms delay you are OK.
Out of the 4.X SRND:
"The maximum one-way delay between any Cisco Unified CallManager servers for all priority ICCS traffic should not exceed 20 ms, or 40 ms round-trip time (RTT). Delay for other ICCS traffic should be kept reasonable to provide timely database and directory access.

The maximum round-trip time (RTT) between any two servers must not exceed 40 ms at any time. This time limit must include all delays in the transmission path between the two servers. Verifying the round trip delay using the ping utility on the Cisco Unified CallManager server will not provide an accurate result. The ping is sent as a best-effort tagged packet and is not transported using the same QoS-enabled path as the ICCS traffic. Therefore, Cisco recommends that you verify the delay by using the closest network device to the Cisco Unified CallManager servers, ideally the access switch to which the server is attached."

you are correct bandwidth is not a requirement (to a certain extend) but the 100meg is what the CISCO SE are recommending in my area.

By the way the above requirements are the same for 5.X
