This query also appears in the 'other topics' forum. I'm using a scatter gun approach to try and solve my question!

I am currently developing a small customer database in A97 (but started in A2002 a while back and now converted 'down').

I have used the Calendar ActiveX control in one of my routines to get a start/finish date for a report (looks rather whizzy, though I say so myself).

When I changed over to a newer computer during the A97 development and then started up the database on the new computer, the ActiveX calendar wasn't automatically called up.

Does this mean that if I give the database to someone else that they will also have to...

a) 'Register' that control? OR,

b) Will me having now done it make it automatic? OR,

c) Do I need to build in some routine to the database to make sure it's called up on a new computer?

Many TIA

Chris

Chris,

Althought I'm not expert at ActiveX controls...I think you could code in automatic registration. Make sure the control is copied into the system directory (I use a batch file to do this) Then register it using:

regsvr32 ComponentName.dll

Should work...anyone else feel free to correct me. Thanks

Bill

Thanks Bill.

Being a cheat. I put this question in two forums (Other Topics was the other one). This one had gone so far down the list, I couldn't imagine anyone picking up on it - so, being naughty, I ignored it.

From the 'similar' thread, I went into a method that just didn't bother with the caendar ActiveX and overcame it that way!

Thanks for the idea, I may well try that on the next version to see if that works.
