Calling number identification

Can any body please tell me why if i hook up a normal phone on a public extension it will show me the calling number, but when i hook the same phone on an MD extension it will not show me the calling number?

Are the only phones which will show the calling number are digital phones on the MD?

'By 'normal' phone you mean an analogue extension, I presume.
The CLI you get from a public network, is just a feature that some networks provide to you. Sometimes you have to pay for it.

All this is also possible on an MD110, even for analogue sets. You get CLI on Digital, ISDN, cordless and IP-extensions (provided the hardware supports it). If you want it on analogue extensions, you'll have to use the correct hardware. (I know the ELU30 supports it, but maybe there's a patched version of the ELU29 that does the trick too.)

most of the boards i have are ELU11 i know so old, but i have 2 ELU29 boards, so now does any one know if the ELU29 supports CLI, and i think the analogue extensions need to be programmed in a way to support CLI, can any one print me EXCAP and EXDDP for an analogue extension that supports CLI?

You will need a special prom on the boards
and an omr.
This OMR is not available for any market
it is made for the chineese AS.
