Hello,
We would like to be able to receive caller id on incoming external calls. I realize that we need a PRI to do this. However, our switch is an Option 11c with 25.40b general business package. Our vendor says that PRIs are not supported in general business, so we will have to make significant upgrades to support newer software and a PRI.
Are there any other ways to receive caller id without connecting a PRI to the switch directly? We have a NTVQ01 ITG card and I noticed that we have "ITG ISDN TRUNKS" available. Is there a way to network with the PBX through IP to receive caller ID data? Are there any older technologies that our PBX supports that might support caller ID (such as CAMA, for instance)? Alternatively, is there a way to buy/add packages to our old release without having to upgrade to the latest software? I realize I may be out in "left field" here, I just want to make sure there isn't another solution that our vendor hasn't mentioned.
I realize that the proper way to do this is to get a PRI and upgrade the switch, but the cost of doing this is prohibitive.
Thanks,
Nelson
