Hi, we have G3r Version 9. Recently we switched to ISDN PRI trunks and are now getting calling line ID on SOME incoming calls. On other calls we only see the ISDN trunk name. I understand if calling party blocks their info. that we would only see trunk name. But we are getting calls from our warehouse in another state and only see trunk name. Must their PBX be administered to send calling line info? At what point is info collected and passed on to my switch?

Want to get a better understanding of how this works, as people are asking why... Does anyone know of a good source for information on this? Many thanks.

Yes their switch has to be configured to send outgoing caller id. Plus they have to using pri or digital loop to send out caller id.

I'm not an Avaya expert or anything, but there could be a problem with the switch carrier your PRI terminates to...it could be the Intermachine trunks their network traverses doesn't have an ISDN transfer option enabled between their switches...I've seen it, and the end result is that caller id from the originating party is not delivered to the terminating party - it may look intermittent due to origination area (one area has the ISDN transfer option enabled and another doesn't)...
