Guru's

I'm a compter guy caught in the strange telco world! We have a Partner system with (2) Carriers. The first case has the following modules: (From left to right)

206E v3.1
206E
Processor
206E
206E

The second case has:

206E
400
Processor
Voice Mail (4.0)
(empty slot)

I just received a new 206E module with 2 lines and 6 extension. When I put it in the last empty slot the voicemail no longer picks up. I have read something about Hunt Group 7 and ports, but it doesn't make much sense to me.

I am familiar with connecting to extension 10 or 11 to go into programming mode, but what am I looking to do??

Thanks!

Chris Dawson

Manuals for this system, including the installation manuals are available on the web site for download.

Review the installation / installation and programming manual for the partner system and the mail vs or partner mail system . . .and just follow the step by step installation instructions . .and it should be OK .

the mail system needs its own special extensions . .and these vary depending on the positioning of your mail module and then the types of other modules you have installed. .

You need to put the voicemail in the last slot. Go to hunt group 7 and unassign extensions 50 and 51 and assign extensions 56 and 57 for a 2 port voicemail. If it is a 4 port the extensions would be 48-51 and 54-57. When you are done dial ext. 56 and 57 and to make sure each port answers.

Thanks Gurus,

Let me see if I understand this correctly.

I can't lay my hands on the manual, but I believe the ports in Carrier 2 should be:

Carrier #2
Slot 1 (206)= Ports 34-39
Slot 2 (400)= Ports 40-45 (extension numbers are skipped unless you put the 400 module here)
Slot 3 = Processor (no ports)
Slot 4 (206)= Ports 46-51
Slot 5 (VMail)= Ports 54-57 for 4 port VS or Ports 56&57 for 2 Port VS
