Goal: We want to add a ringing line appearance of x4745 to the receptionist’s phone, but have it function separately from the receptionist’s phone. If no one answers or it’s busy, it should go to a voice application (auto attendant) (SDN 6739017). I can dial 6739017 and hear the correct auto attendant recording from my phone. But, dialing 4745, after 4 rings, it gets a generic voicemail greeting for the right extension, but not the auto attendant. I can’t figure out why. Here’s what I’ve done:

1. Created a 500 set TN for x4745, not cross connected to any phone, it is MARP’d, and has HUNT and FDN set to phantom set, DN 6739017. Here’s the TN (copied from another set):

Any suggestions as to why I’m not getting to my application will be appreciated.

The thing to keep in mind is that CallPilot always treats a call based on the number that was originally dialed. It doesn't matter if you forward to another DN before the call goes to CallPilot - it will always look at what was dialed.

So you need to put 4745 in the SDN table and assign the voice application.

Since the receptionist phone already has HUNT and FDN to CallPilot you don't really need the 500 TN. And you don't need the phantom TN either. If 4745 is MARP on the receptionist phone when someone calls it will ring 4 times then go to 4170. Callpilot will see that 4745 was the number dialed and give the SDN treatment.

Thanks for your reply, StanleySteamer!

The receptionist will be answering the phone for two different entities on the same phone: the planning department and the AgTech Incubator (new x4745). She often hard forwards her phone set to another employee when she's away from the front desk. The Incubator line needs to go to the auto attendant in all cases and not be affected by her hard forwarding her set. Thus, the requirement for the 500 set gymnastics.

So, based on your response above, I'll try to change the SDN for the voice app to 4745, out the ACD DN, and change the HUNT and FDN on the 500 set to voicemail and see if that solves my trouble.

Thanks again!

Correction: outed the phantom, not ACD DN. Test call successfully made it to the auto attendant after 4 rings no answer. Thanks again!
