We have a mitel 3300 and having now activated caller ID from my carrier I now have the caller number displayed to extensions but I wanted to associate a caller name with some regular customers and have this displayed on the extensions when calls are received. Can I do this? If so - via the contact center software or on the mitel software and how?
Any feedback would be great - thanks

Yes you can. You need to put the number and name in the Telephone Directory in the format to be used for Alpha Tagging ((number goes in as 9~ 01245XXXX or whatever your normal full PSTN DN is) Its explained quite clearly in the online help search for alpha tagging. Needs to be allowed in the COS of extensions as well.

You don't see the caller name just the number?

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

I have added a London number as follows (we are in London) - as 9~0207 xxx xxxx and also tried 9~207 xxx xxxx - and this doesn't seem to work.
I have enabled in Systems Options and changed the COS for the extensions.
Am I entering the number correctly?
I also tried a regional number as 9~01xxx xxxxxx and as 9~1xxx xxxxxx
Can you give me any further advice?
Many thanks

In the telephone directory should look like this:

'Name you want to appear' 9~07956910XXX No No External (where xxx are digits)

Incoming PSTN calls to a named hunt group is not subjected to alpha tagging.

What did you change in COS of extensions? It still needs CLI enableb.

In COS I changed 'display ani/Dnis/isdn calling/ called number to yes
Add
'Display ani/isdn calling number only to yes
Where do I enable cli?

If I have incoming calls routed to a terminal hunt group does this mean I can't get caller name to display?

That is cli you have enabled. I assume you are still getting the number displayed?

IIRC the hunt group does not display the name or number till just after the call is answered.

Try it on a single phone first to get it working then try the hunt group. I know this works on multicall lines and there is an issue with hunt groups and cli. I had to change one of my customers to multicall to get the cli to work on ringing.

The two systems I have working with this both use multicall keys and both just display the name if the system has it programmed or the number if its not.

I'm still getting caller number displayed on both acd and multicall incoming calls. The only one I got working was a mobile number which I put as a system speed call as 907962xxxxxx and in the telephone directory as 9~7962xxxxxx.
Am a bit confused!

Have you enabled "Display etc. on Multicall /keylines" in COS? It only uses the telephone directory. Does your line provider deliver you th "0" or is it missing from your displayed number on caller display?

I have enabled all the cos options as suggested. When the caller number comes through it appears without the '0'.
Will this make a difference ?

You need to program the "inward dialing prefixes" form. This should then cure the problem and add the 0 back to the displayed number and for returning missed calls etc..
