We have an 11c and two carriers (local and long distance). Each has their respective T1 connection. When we make calls through the local route, the CALLER ID works. However, when we make long distance calls the CALLER ID doesn't seem to go.

I'm relatively new to the PBX and I'm very confused. We had problems with our CALLER ID about a year ago and it was resolved so, I believe it to be set up correctly however, I'm starting to wonder if each route has it's own unique CALLER ID -or- do they both use the same string? Could my local phone company be stripping off the CALLER ID?

did you try to change the CPFXS in route data block to NO and then insert some numbers in prompts HNTN and HLCL?

It was a long time ago. I don't remember CPFXS but I do remember HNTN and HLCL. The original problem was with these parameters. I think there is a bug in the software (imagine that). The string was sending the area code twice and certain phone switches thought that the first area code was a country code and wouldn't let us through. We modified these parameter to rid ourselves fo the extra area code. and it seemed to solve the problem.

Now, more recently, when I call select phone numbers, I get the recordered message..."this caller doesn't accept blocked calls". I'm now trying to figure out why the foreign services don't think we're sending CALLLER ID strings?

what configuration you have in CLID block in LD 15?

The CLID you are seeing for local calls could be from your carrier and not your PBX. Try changing the number( within your did range) in LD 15 and call yourself to see if you or your local co is pushing the digits out. You may need to just give a cal to your carrier.

good luck

I haven't had a chance to get back to the LD 15 yet. I hope to do that later today. (PBX is located on the other side of the campus and I have to drag my laptop along).

Good idea about the LEC. I had never given it much thought. I presumed that I was sending the CLID. It is very possible that my CLID is being stripped and they are inserting the CLID information.

It sounds like your carrier is loosing your caller ID in translations. Check your CLID also.

Have you done a trace in LD 80 to see exactly what digits you are sending to the LEC? Then you can tell them what you are sending for each example.
