We have a 100d card setup as a pri with 23 channels plus 1 d channel,we do not want to show a main #
the provider has set us up with ansi
we would like the outbound caller id to show each persons d.i.d is this possible,
A correction to the above: when using the Base Number with Station, if the Station's number is NOT a DID it will get sent anyway! Thus the called party will get an INVALID Caller ID on their phone. The outgoing call still completes. Just the sent CID is incorrect!
Example: DID numbers: 213-555-2300 - 2399
DID Station 2313 places call to 311-555-2368 called party sees 213-555-2313 on their phone.
NON-DID Station 2411 places call to 311-555-2368 called party sees 213-555-2411 on their phone. Obviously if they tried to call that number they would get whomever it was assign to or not, but they would not reach station 2411.
This is a problem Avaya NEVER fixed! They really dropped the ball on the PRI CID issue...
In that respect yes, if the provider is "screening" the Numbers-to-Send, one not in the DID range for example, the call may be denied. Here in California, Pacific Bell(AT&T) does not screen or block anything. That's where I did my original testing on PRI and the CO switch is a 5ESS.
The best thing to do is check with the service provider to find out what their policy is when ordering or working on PRIMARY ISDN. This should one of a number of items on your check list.
Please post a print of the PRI config so we can see what you have programmed. Also what is the station number that originated the call? Did you try it from multiple phones?
The plot thickens! I did not realize there are two PBXs networked together. This is one of the major limitations with the Legend/Magix CID Base Number + Station. You can only have ONE NPA-NXX-. So all your DID numbers have to share the same NPA-NXX or the above would apply from my earlier post, and there may something related to the Dial Plans of both PBXs that comes into play here also, not knowing what numbers or ranges you have on the other PBX.
You might want to review the Network Reference document for the Legend and print or review the Dial Plans of both systems to get a better idea as to what you have here. I see that you are using 10 channels of the DS1 to the other PBX with a PRI configuration.
I don't think you can WILD CARD any of the digits in the Base Number + Station, but you can try it and see what you get. Besides using a cell phone for the CID recipient do you have a POTS line with CID for testing? It won't hurt to experiment with those options, depending on what restrictions, if any QWEST may have on the Number to Send from the PBX.
