I have been told that Meridian 61C can only get Caller ID on PRI trunks. Is there any other way to pass caller ID through analog trunks that have it.

Thanks

Mike

the man is right as usual, but the provider has to be able to send that inbound signal. check the price of a pri, we have them priced here so that a dozen analog trunks cost about the same as a full 23 channel pri. time saved alone is a major plus. with a pri and bars/nars set up right, i can dial a 10 digit to the west coast and get ringback in point 7 seconds, on a test call to another 81c, answer supervision and voice connect end to end less the 1.5 sceonds. that's a far cry from the old analog days, and about 60 times faster then digital cell...

workingMan,

What is the part number of the class modem card, have u got any info on it.

John, have about 14 trunks, ur idea would work but the customer we are supporting doesnt want to put all his eggs in one basket so to speak, If the T-1 goes down all calls stop. They are using the trunks for semi emergency type operation.

Thanks

Mike

makes sense, without a backup pri, you do have a single point of failure, hope they are not betting on an opt 11 staying up forever, that's sorta a non-redundant point of failure. you are right, two analog cards will stay up much better then a single t. i don't remember, except for lightning, replacing even one.
