I have a customer who wants to add Caller ID to his 8x24 but before I "let" him proceed with that idea, does anyone know which (if any) of the firmware versions of the 8x24 supported the delivery of Caller ID to all of the ringing stations, or whether it just supports the auto-caller ID to one station and the rest of the stations have to F811 to get the info (like the older MICS firmware).

Thanks,

the callerID is a tyoe of LS/DS card ..you need to have that to get callerid and in 8X24 hte trunk cards are included and not callerid

i dont know if adding a callerid card to a trunk module expansion will give you callerid

The 8X24 requires a C8 CLID module. This attaches to the first 8 trunks and provides auto info to only one phone, and all other have to do f811.

You need DR 5 or DR5.1 for Call ID to answer that question.
Yes the C8 as Arr says is what you need for the first 8 lines, if you need more then yes you can add a 12X0 with a Call ID card/s.

How many lines do you have and how many do you want of those lines to have Call ID? and do you have a 12X0 onsite?

I have a couple times installed 1 or 2 Call ID cards into the 12X0 and moved the first 8 lines to the 12X0 and the remaining to the KSU, sure as hell confuses the next tech if they have no idea what I have done lol.
This was because it was cheaper to get 1 or 2 used CII cards (and trade in the old cards)then to buy an M8.

Call ID should go with the Transfer if I am not mistaken unless you have a pack of people answering outside calls.

Did a site inspection today and as it turns out they actually have an M8 on the wall (and a RAD), whomever punched everything in when they moved into the building just didn't know/bother to punch it into the telco... sigh :) Needless to say the customer now happily has Caller ID, and I wasn't all that disappointed to see a RAD on the wall either :)

Thanks all!

Cheers,
