Is Caller ID built into the 6X16 with DR5 DS, or do I need an add on module?

YOU NEED A CLID TRUNL MODULE

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

For a 616 you will need a C6 module. It's wired across your punchdown blocks for the trunks. CID trunk cards are for the Modular ICS line. The 8x24 system uses the M8 module.

What is an M8 module?

I know you can expand you 8X24 with a copper expansion carde, trunk module and ls/ds cards. That is regular lines, I am not sure if you can use ci cards on it that is why I am asking.

You can use CLID trunk cards on an 0X12. It is unclear, however, whether or not you need also to have the M8 loaded up first in order for the CLID trunk cards to work.

PhM

It's a caller id interface module, the phone lines are "teed" through it, also requires an extension port connected to it.
