We currently have a merlin magix R4 in a legend chassis. We are using MLX-5D phones connected through 408 GS/LS MLX cards.

When someone dials in from the outside, all calls are answered by an auto attendant (Merlin messaging r1.1).

If we replace our station cards with 408 GS/LS ID MLX cards, will the caller id come through on our phone displays, even though calls are transfered from the auto attendant?

Thanks!

Yes it will. Make sure to set the ring delay so that the Caller ID information gets a chance to arrive (Caller ID is sent between the first and second ring).

Also, it goes without saying that you must subscribe to Caller ID service.

Tim,

Thank you for your assistance. Yes, it definitely does go without saying that we must subscribe to the service. I am in the obtaining the service as part of a service change for us now.

How do I set the ring delay? And what should i set it to?
Thanks!

Brian

Caller ID Delay is set this way: Press menu, system program, start/exit, lines/trunks, more, LS-ID Delay, entry mode - key in each trunk number and press enter (e.g., 801 enter, 802 enter, etc.) Press Inspect to make sure all caller-Id capable trunks have been entered - then press Home to exit when finished.
