I have a Panasonic KX-NCP500 PBX set up so that calls coming in from the outside get routed to an incoming call distribution group that consists of three extensions. Right now all three extensions are on my desk.

The calls ring the extensions like they're supposed to, but there is no caller id information displayed. The phones (all Panasonic also) display information about the ICD group, but not any caller id information.

Is there a setting in the PBX configuration that I might have missed? Or should I contact our phone service provider to ask if they're not sending caller id information?

Have not worked on an NCP (yet) but all other Panasonic systems require you to turn on the Caller ID feature in system programming before it will work. If you've verified the carrier is sending it that would be the first place to start.

I've looked at what I figured were the relevant settings in the Maintenance Console, and I didn't see anything that seemed awry. I'm a bit new to PBX configuration; where in the Maintenance Console should I look?

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you don't know where to look I'd have a hard time believing you got the maintenance console software legitimately. That is dealer-only software that is available only after the completion of a very expensive certification program.

If you're an end user using a bootlegged copy I think your best bet is to call a qualified tech to help you. Any suggestions given here won't make sense if you haven't been trained on that system. If you're a tech "borrowing" the software from someone, get that person to help you (they had to go through training in order to get the software).

Caller id is on as standard. Have you a telephone that you can put directly on the line to test it is on the line or ring your telco and ask them

What lines do you have (analogue, isdn or sip)
